At Fun Little Foodies, our main goal is to get kids involved and interested in food and cooking. We focus on having fun, getting stuck in, tasting new food and flavours and exploring where our food comes from. Our recipes are nutritious and show the importance and simplicity of using fresh ingredients wherever possible.
Children are encouraged to be as independent as possible and our classes will help develop their social, motor, Literacy and Numeracy skills as well as learning to cook and having lots of fun along the way!
Our preschool classes are open for children from 2.5 years. However, children will need to be able to socially distance, they will need to be able to stay at their family table for the whole session (except for hand washing!) We are now allowing younger siblings to attend if necessary but unfortunately, we cannot allow pushchairs due to limitations on space. Babies in slings or carriers are welcome, but we won't be able to help your older child as easily as we could before. Please be mindful if bringing younger toddlers that they really need to stay within the space around your cooking table so if they are prone to wandering, please try to make other arrangements. We are very aware these measures are limiting for some people and we are so sorry we have to do this but we don’t have any option at the moment.
Only one adult must attend per family for all classes.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we need to limit our capacity to 7 TABLES (up to 3 people can comfortably sit at a table) and as a result we need to increase our prices slightly to £8 per session. We really hope you all understand this is necessary for us and we really do increase prices begrudgingly ☹.
Social distancing measures will remain in place and all family groups/bubbles will have their own ingredients and equipment to use. All adults will have a chair that is 2m away from other adults. PPE will be worn by staff IF we need to go closer than 2m to other adults for an extended period of time. As of the 8th August, in line with Government guidelines on indoor venues we DO require adults to wear masks unless they are exempt.
The format of the class will mirror our old format as much as possible, with a brief introduction (sorry no singing until we are told otherwise!), cooking, craft activity and a story to finish the session while the food is cooling. We will have a small selection of books available to share with your child as an extra activity while the food is cooking if needed. These must only be shared with your own child and all books used will be quarantined for 72 hours before we put them out again. At the moment, we are not allowed to provide any shared toys.
Booking can only be made for a full half term block in order to keep groups of children consistent and we can’t allow changes between different classes as we did before. At the start of each half term, you will receive a PDF of a recipe booklet with the recipes and activity ideas - so if you are unable to make a class, you can still complete the recipe at home! No recipe cards or stickers will be given out during the class.
Our tea/coffee facilities are currently unavailable.
We are confident that we can still have lots of cooking fun at Foodies in a lovely safe environment, we hope you can join us! Like we said at the start - feedback from our holiday sessions has been really positive!
If you would like to book a space in a class, please send us a message with the day and time you would like, please include any classes you could make. As we are limited with numbers, it is important that you let us know ASAP! Customers with credit will be given priority, but we cannot guarantee there will be a space in the class you want. A waiting list will be held for each class if needed. We will only be running a class when it is at full capacity. (Credit can be used against any of our future Saturday & holiday classes as well).
